Interest Sanrio and Mattel to Release Hello Kitty Uno Card Game

Sanrio is collaborating with the toy and game maker Mattel to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Uno card game with a special Uno Hello Kitty game release in September in Japan.
Each numbered card in the deck features a depiction of Hello Kitty wearing different facial expressions. The deck will also feature a special card that allows players to switch all their cards with a neighbor.
In July, Bandai and Mattel reissued their Uno One Piece card game, which featured original art and special cards. Bandai and Mattel have also released a Doraemon game in the past.
Sanrio is currently working with CAPCOM on Hello Kitty cross-over merchandise with the Street Fighter video game franchise.
In the past, Sanrio has also collaborated with American rock band Kiss, visual-kei band X Japan, and virtual diva Hatsune Miku in selling cross promotion merchandise.
