Hot Topic to Sell Sailor Moon T-Shirt for Men

The licensed clothing maker Hybrid Apparel has confirmed with ANN it plans to test the sales of a Sailor Moon T-shirt for men at the American retail chain Hot Topic in October (T-shirt design pictured at right). The shirt will be available for purchase in selected stores and on Hot Topic's website.
The short-sleeve shirt's design will be similar to one of the four girls' T-shirts that Hot Topic already sells, except in men's sizes and fittings. Hybrid Apparel also confirmed it will add new styles for release in October or November.
Sailor Moon has seen a resurgence of interest in recent months, including Kodansha Comics' announcement that it will publish Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon manga and its two-volume prequel Codename: Sailor V starting next week. There is also an Italian videogame for the Nintendo DS and a relicensing by m4e in Germany (PDF).
In July, the merchandising company Great Eastern Entertainment began listing Sailor Moon products on its website as "coming soon." In addition, Lingerie company Leg Avenue has acquired the license to manufacture a Sailor Moon costume for Hot Topic, which will be featured in Hot Topic's upcoming Halloween line.
