Team wins 3rd race as season crown comes down to the final race

The Hatsune Miku Good Smile BMW car won its third GT300 race of the season at the rain-slick Twin Ring Motegi raceway on Sunday — and took the crown for the 2011 championship in the GT300 class. After taking the pole position, drivers Nobuteru Taniguchi and Taku Bamba turned in a time of 1:37'56.682 in this season's round 8 to win the race and the season. The team had won round 3 at the Super GT International Series Malaysia at the Sepang Circuit in June, and again at round 6 at the Fuji Speedway in September.

The EVANGELION RT TEST Type-01 Apple Shiden car was #8 at one minute and 11.552 seconds behind, followed by Pacific NAC Ika Musume Ferrari at #14 (1'58.249 behind) and Mach Go Go Go Syaken RD320R at #15 (1'58.715 behind). The Haruhi Racing Hankook Porsche team did not participate.

In the end, the GT300 championship came down to the last race. Hatsune Miku's GSR&Studie with Team Ukyo team earned another 23 points for its third win on Sunday, which finally pushed its 111-point total over #2's Jim Gainer (105 points).
