Seitokai Items Offered in Japan's Save On Stores

Convenience stores give away alarm clocks with Yōko Hikasa's voice, posters, other goods

Beginning on November 11, Save On convenience stores in central Japan are holding a lottery to give away a variety of Seitokai Yakuindomo items. Save On customers must spend 500 yen (about US$6) for a chance to win a prize.

The top prizes are two versions of an alarm clock featuring the character Shino Amakusa with recordings by her Japanese voice actress, Yōko Hikasa (K-ON!, Ro-Kyu-Bu!, Wagnaria!!). Hikasa did a special voice recording session only for these Save On alarm clocks.

Other items Save On is offering in the lottery include a Shino Amakusa computer mouse (B prize), a mug (C prize), two kinds of book covers (D prize), a pencilboard (E prize), two kinds of file boxes (F prize), two kinds of posters (G prize), two sets of two clear files (H prize), and two sets of five postcards (I prize).

Based on Tozen Ujiie's original shonen manga series, Seitokai Yakuindomo follows the story of Tsuda Takatoshi, a male first-year high school student who decides to enroll in the formerly all-girl Ōsai Academy. Takatoshi is asked to join the school's student council as vice president, and he becomes the only male among the student council's four officers.

A television anime adaptation of Seitokai Yakuindomo aired in Japan last year, and a video anime adaptation of the slice-of-life comedy manga shipped in Japan in April. This year's 34th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine announced that two more original anime DVDs will bundle with upcoming compiled volumes of the manga.
