Mutsumi Tamura, Chinatsu Akasaki perform in adaptation of Koduho's slice-of-life comedy

The official website for the anime adaptation of Kaduho's Baby, Please Kill Me! (Kill Me Baby) manga began streaming the series' first promotional video on Friday. The video reveals that Mutsumi Tamura, who plays the Sonya, and Chinatsu Akasaki, who plays Yasuna Oribe, will sing the comedy anime's opening and ending theme songs. The opening song is titled "Kill Me Baby!," and "Futari no Kimochi no Honto no Himitsu" (The True Secret of the Pair's Feelings) will be the ending theme.

The story follows the "schoolgirl killer" Sonya, an assassin who happens to attend an ordinary school, and the "tough girl" Yasuna, a fearless yet not-so-smart girl and a self-described "friend" of Sonya. Agiri Goshiki (Ai Takabe), a ninja in Sonya's organization, completes the slice-of-life comedy's main cast.

Koduho's manga series launched in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine in 2008, after the magazine ran a one-shot early version of the story. Yoshiki Yamakawa (Hatsukoi Limited) is directing the anime at J.C. Staff (A Certain Magical Index, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, Nodame Cantabile), and Hideki Shirane (Dream Eater Merry, Aria the Scarlet Ammo) is writing the scripts. Shinya Hasegawa (Sailor Moon, Ikki Tousen, Otome Yōkai Zakuro) is creating the series' character designs.

the Baby, Please Kill Me! anime will begin airing on Japanese television in January.
