Square Enix's Gunslinger Stratos Game's Video Streamed

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Gun-shooting action arcade game with 4 vs. 4 gameplay to be released this summer

The official website for Square Enix's and game developer Byking's (Gundam Extreme Vs) Gunslinger Stratos arcade game is streaming a promotional video for the game. Gen Urobuchi (Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero) of Nitroplus is working as conceptual writer on the game.

The gun-shooting action game will feature four-versus-four-player online gameplay, 60-frames-per-second graphics on a 60-inch plasma display, two-handed device controllers, and Tokyo's Shibuya ward and other urban areas as its backdrop.

Players will use a "Double Gun Device" that can transform from two guns into one. Players will also be able to change their shooting style, which will allow them to utilize different kinds of weapons such as a rocket launcher or a machine gun. The game will offer several different characters to choose from, each with the ability to use different weapons. Gunslinger Stratos will also offer a large variety of armaments including a flame-thower and a "recovery gun." The game will also feature a semi-destructible environment, allowing players to be able to destroy parts of stages, affecting gameplay.

Nobuki Kadoi (Lord of Vermillion) of Square Enix is producing the game, and Byking's Shinichirō Obata is serving as director. The character designers are Mari Shimazaki (Bayonetta, Okami), Arco Wada (Fate/Extra), and Shigeto Koyama (Heroman). The cast includes Atsushi Abe, Hisako Kanemoto, and Kana Ueda.
