Nakagawa playing role of Athena/Saori Kido, singing new "Pegasus Fantasy"

Shōko Nakagawa ("Shokotan") will be starring in the upcoming Saint Seiya Omega television anime series, both playing the role of Saori Kido, the personification of the goddess Athena, and singing its theme song, "Pegasus Fantasy Omega." The theme song, a remake of the original anime's theme, will be officially performed by "Make-Up feat. Shōko Nakagawa" and arranged by Kenji Hiramatsu.

Nakagawa has also been added to the anime's "Seiya Night" premiere event that will take place on March 31. The event is scheduled to be simulcast across Japan, as well as in Taiwan, Brazil, and France.

When asked, Nakagawa, known for her love of manga and anime, stated that she was a fan of the series, and that she frequently sang the Saint Seiya themes "Pegasus Fantasy" and "Soldier Dream" at karaoke. She also noted that she was re-reading the manga series in order to prepare for her role, and that she was looking forward to the new anime series as a fan, as well.

Earlier this month, it was also announced that Nakagawa will be singing the opening and ending theme songs for the Furusato Saisei Nippon no Mukashi Banashi (Hometown Regeneration: Japan's Folklore) television anime series.
