Niigata Plans 'Manga/Anime Information Hall'

posted on by Ko Ransom
Hall to include exhibits on Niigata-affiliated creators, popular titles

It was announced on Monday that the provisionally-named "Manga/Anime Information Hall" will be opened in Niigata city's Bandai BP2 shopping center. Niigata city is located approximately 200 miles north of Tokyo and is the capital of Niigata prefecture. The hall will be roughly 1000 square meters in size (about 10,750 square feet), and will feature exhibits on artists related to the area, such as Rumiko Takahashi, Mizushima Shinji, and Fujio Akatsuka.

Other planned exhibits include areas dedicated to popular anime and manga titles, an area where visitors can experience anime voice acting, and a small screening room that will play an original anime promoting the city. The hall is scheduled to open some time in 2013.
