A graduate of Japan's Women's College, she'd been trained at Kazuo Koike Gekiga-son Juku (like as comic circle). She got a comic prize in 1978, and made her debut as a comic artist. Soon she started cartoon "Urusei Yatsura" in the magazine "Weekly Sunday".
