Hyper Loving a Maniac released digitally in English, Japanese in same week

Animate USA announced on Thursday that it will release more of Japanese publisher Libre's manga titles on the Kindle electronic book reader device. One of these is You Higashino's boys-love title Hyper Loving a Maniac Part 1- Fundraising Version, whose December 8 release date in English roughly coincides with the December release of both print and digital versions in Japanese. The volume contains short stories revolving around a young man's fantasies about another man.

Also released was the Kindle-exclusive sixth volume of Sound of My Voice (Boku no Koe) by Embracing Love's Youka Nitta.

Despite the rise in simultaneous anime releases, simultaneous manga releases have remained rare. Publisher Dark Horse Comics announced in 2007 that it had signed CLAMP for a series that would be released simultaneously in several countries; the project has not reached fruition. In 2009, Viz Media announced that it would release Rumiko Takahashi's new work RIN-NE online in English in North America at the same time Shogakukan published it in Japanese in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine.
