Viz Media has confirmed that Tite Kubo, the manga creator of Bleach and Zombie Powder, will appear at Comic-Con International in San Diego from July 25 to 26. Viz Media first hinted at the Shonen Jump magazine artist's appearance with an online banner campaign. Kubo will first make opening remarks at a theatrical screening of Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody in downtown San Diego on July 25. He will then appear at the Shonen Jump panel and hold two autograph sessions (each limited to 100 signings) at Viz Media's exhibitor booth on July 26.
Viz Media has published 22 of Bleach's compiled manga volumes, and the Adult Swim television network has been airing Viz Media's adaptation of the anime version. Comic-Con International has previously hosted fellow manga creators Tohru Fujisawa (GTO), Matsuri Hino (Vampire Knight), Kazuo Koike (Lone Wolf and Cub), Rumiko Takahashi (Inuyasha), Arina Tanemura (The Gentlemen's Alliance Cross), Naoko Takeuchi (Sailor Moon), and Nobuhiro Watsuki (Rurouni Kenshin) at the Comic-Con International event in San Diego, California.
