Summer release for New World game sequel; Vita version not announced in Europe

Namco Bandai Games Europe confirmed on Monday that it will release the One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 (One Piece: Kaizoku Musou 2) game on the PlayStation 3 console.

The sequel will be set in the New World arc of Eiichiro Oda's manga and Toei's anime adaptation with familiar but powered-up characters such as Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro. It will also introduce a new original mode, new characters such as Eneru, and new stages such as Skypiea. Omega/Tecmo KOEI is developing the game.

Earlier this month, Namco Bandai Games announced the game for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan. Namco Bandai Games Europe did not announce that it will release the PlayStation Vita version of the game.

Namco Bandai Games Europe notes that the first game sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide. To mark the milestone, it will offer a discount on the digital download of One Piece: Pirate Warriors with all of its downloadable content from December 12 to December 26.
