Candidates go to Shibuya in video to promote themselves, make election pledges
Sanrio began streaming an official video of their various mascots promoting themselves for the Sanrio 28th Character Ranking election on Wednesday. Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Dear Daniel who parade through Shibuya in the video are only a few of the 100 characters listed on the ballot.
On the ballot page, each of the candidates has listed pledges they will carry out if they reach a certain ranking in the final results. Here are some examples:

| 67 | Yachiyo Charmer |  | To hold a kappa-head hairstyle contest if she gets within the top 50. |
| NEW | My Sweet Piano |  | If she places under #80, she'll shear her wool. |

Voting will be held until July 7, and the results of the contest will be announced on July 20.
