Kodansha HQ installs life-size Attack on Titan giant head to celebrate 20 million copies printed

The head of Kodansha's Magazine Special publication posted the surreal cover art for the July issue of Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine this week. It features a crossover race between Eren and Taroza, the main leads from Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan manga and Makoto Raiku's Animal Land.

The cover celebrates the 20 millionth copy printed of Attack on Titan, as well as Animal Land's Kodansha Manga Award win. It also notes that this issue is bundling exclusive stickers of Attack on Titan's military. The next issue will have more stickers, the September issue will have a variant Volume 11 cover drawn by Isayama, and the October issue will have a clear file folder with anime art based on a rough sketch by Isayama.

In a separate development, Kodansha put a life-size blow-up replica of an Attack on Titan giant's head on the first floor of its headquarters this week. The four-meter-tall (about 13-feet-tall) head debuted at Anime Contents Expo in March:

Kodansha brought back the life-size head to celebrate the 20-million-copy milestone. The display is open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until Friday, the day that the July issue of Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine ships.
