Fans can take pictures aboard Valkyrie; replica guitar, transformable toys also on display

The "Macross: The Museum" exhibition opened at The Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum in Takarazuka City, Hyogo, Japan on Friday. The exhibition imagines what a museum would look like in the Macross story world in the year 2059. The exhibit includes "the legendary diva Lynn Minmay's photo album," a life-size VF-1 variable fighter cockpit, a display of about 30 smaller 1/60 Valkyrie replicas, and costumes and microphones of the divas from Minmay to Macross Frontier's Sheryl and Ranka.

The exhibition will run from June 28 to October 28. Special pre-order tickets, each with one of three different A5-size character illustration art cards, will cost 1,300 yen (about US$13), while a normal adult ticket will cost 700 yen (US$7), a middle school ticket will cost 300 yen (US$3), and an elementary school ticket will cost 100 yen (US$1).

Last year, an exhibition showcased a partial 1/1-scale model of Macross Frontier's VF-25F Messiah Valkyrie variable fighter (in the intermediate GERWALK mode).
