Square Enix announced on Tuesday that first copies of its upcoming Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII role-playing game sequel for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox360 will include a costume of Final Fantasy VII's Cloud Strife, as well as his weapon, the Buster Sword. The set also includes a Soldier Bangle accessory, and Lightning's abilities will change when she is equipped with the items. The set for Lightning will be available in North America and Europe with pre-orders of the game.

The game will represent the final chapter in Lightning's story. The game centers around a 13-day countdown until the end of the world, and players must save humanity within 13 days and 13 nights.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be released in Japan on November 21, in North America on February 11, and Europe on February 14. A “Final Fantasy XIII – Lightning Ultimate Box” premium set that will be released on the same day as the game is released in Japan. The Lightning Ultimate Box set comes packaged with all three games in the Final Fantasy XIII series, a soundtrack album packaged in an acrylic disc case containing carefully-chosen various tracks from the trilogy, a pamphlet containing original costume designs, and a Play Arts figure of heroine Lightning as she appears in the upcoming game. The box will retail for 26,000 yen (about US$260), and will be sold in limited quantities from Square Enix's online store. Normal copies of the game will cost 7,770 yen (about US$78).
