New aerial combat simulation game slated for late 2013

Namco Bandai Games America announced on Friday that it will release the free-to-play air battle game Ace Combat Infinity for PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network later this year. The game, which the Project Aces design team that created previous games in the series will develop, will be the first free-to-play Ace Combat game.

New features will include an original solo story campaign and an online mulitiplayer battle mode, where two teams of up to four players compete to take down a common enemy.

Namco Bandai Games is streaming two teaser videos on the game's official Japanese website.

Namco Bandai Games released the previous game in the series, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, first for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011, and later for PC. The company has since released ports for Nintendo 3DS and iPhone called Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy and Ace Combat Assault Horizon: Trigger Finger, respectively.

In 2012, Namco Bandai Games released DLCs for Assault Horizon that allowed for Macross- and The IDOLM@STER-inspired plane colors.
