Ghost in the Shell: Arise Glasses for the Hacker in Everyone

posted on by Bamboo Dong
JINS PC for HACKERS collaborated with series for Tokyo Game Show

This past weekend at the Tokyo Game Show, eyeglass manufacturer JINS PC and Ghost in the Shell Arise teamed up to stock a vending machine full of "JINS PC for HACKERS" glasses in limited-edition Ghost in the Shell packaging.

The "JINS Self Shop" vending machine stocked 300 units of their linear-profile "JINS PC for HACKERS" glasses, packaged in a special case that featured the character Motoko Kusanagi.

They were only available at the show, but if you just want the glasses and aren't too picky about the packaging, you can buy the glasses online, with normal packaging.

According to company copy, the "hackers" that the glasses are made for aren't those who break into systems with nefarious intent, but instead are users who are well-versed in computers and networking, and contribute to society with their extensive technological know-how and knowledge. They added that Kusanagi and her team were the perfect kind of "hackers."

The glasses sold for 9,990 yen ($101).

Amusingly, the glasses were displayed by a Logicoma wearing a specially-fitted model.

JINS PC is also selling One Piece-themed glasses for anyone interested. The entire set costs 44,910 yen ($456)
