Hero Mask Manga Heroine Takes on Shoplifters

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Hero Mask manga creators Takashi Okabe and Yumika Tsuru are creating a poster starring heroine RIRIKO Sasaki to raise awareness about shoplifting and reselling stolen goods, like books, CDs, DVDs, and video games. The posters will be put up this month in police stations and bookstores around Japan. In the image, RIRIKO exclaims, "As the leader of the Hero Club, I won't over look this!!"

The original school-action manga follows an average schoolboy named Mirai Shibuya who receives a mask that makes him stronger. He battles evil as a member of the "Hero Club." The manga is currently serialized Shogakukan's Heroes magazine.

Police have enlisted the help of anime and game characters before. Sengoku Basara posters were distributed to car dealerships to raise awareness on car theft last month.
