DMM's 'Cold-Weather Girls' Browser Game is Real

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Kan Colle creators initially released a video its Kanpani Girls (Cold-Weather Girls) browser game on April 1 and it was summarily dismissed as an April Fool's joke. As it turns out, Kanpani Girls is a real browser game. The difference between the April 1 video and the actual game is the art style. The April 1 joke suggested the game was getting a classic 16-bit style makeover.

The game is adding two new voice actresses to its roster, too. Mai Kadowaki is joining the game as the Sentinel Ren Adelang and Yui Sakakibara is joining as High Priest Lotte Royale.

Despite it's title, and DMM's penchant for making "things-as-girls" games, cold-weather girls doesn't star anthropomorphisized weather patterns. It's a more traditional fantasy role-playing game with a female cast of characters.

Haruka Shimotsuki sings the game's theme song and Kenji Itō composed the music. Other voice cast members include Rina Satō, Shizuka Itou, Hitomi Nabatame, Ayumi Fujimura, and Mai Goto.
