Sailor Moon Pop-Up Store Offers Invites to 'Crystal Night' Party

The Isetan department store's fifth collaboration with the Sailor Moon franchise is offering a "Crystal Night" party for people who spend at least 100,000 yen (about US$940) on brand merchandise for the campaign. The "Sailor Moon x Isetan 2018 Pop Up Store" will launch for a limited time at the Isetain Shinjuku store in Tokyo on Wednesday, and the party event will be held at the store on Friday.
The theme of this year's collaboration store is "Let's Have a 'Moonlight' & 'Starlight' Party!" Various popular brands are contributing to the collaboration. Brands that participated in past years' pop-up shops include Anna Sui, Samantha Vega, and Baby-G.

Violinist Mariko Terashita, who appeared at a Sailor Moon 25th anniversary classical concert in August, will perform at the "Crystal Night" party event. Tsukemen unit pianist Suguru will also perform. In addition, the event will have a dress-up booth and offer professional hair and makeup services.
This year marks the first time that the pop-up shop collaboration is offering a related night party. The first 90 people who present their receipts to prove they meet the brand merchandise purchase requirement will receive invitation cards. Guests must wear official Sailor Moon merchandise at the event, but it may include items purchased before this year's collaboration pop-up shop is held.
Guests at the party will likely bring a variety of Sailor Moon accessories to match their outfits. The high-end adult-oriented toy brand Proplica recently unveiled yet another item that fans can tote to future events. The Proplica Sailor Chibi Moon Prism Heart Compact is a full-size recreation of Chibiusa's compact from the manga and anime.
The locket can play newly recorded lines by Chibiusa voice actress Kae Araki. It also has a light feature, and people can push a button to make a silhouette of Neo Queen Serenity appear on the mirror inside. The included stand has a Luna-P design.
The compact costs 8,100 yen, and it is slated to ship in August. The Bandai Premium website and Bandai figure brand Tamashii Nations' online shop began accepting pre-orders on Friday.
