Information from the recent Video Software Dealers Association conferences has leaked out through the Anime on DVD forums. Funimation has acquired the rights to Yū Yū Hakusho. In addition, Rhino has acquired the rights to the Gatchaman series. "redrum" mentions that "...they'll release it as Battle of the Planets but I've been told that the extras on the DVD will include Japanese Gatchaman episodes subbed in English. They cannot release stand-alone Gatchaman releases due to contractual reasons with Tatsunoko."

Yū Yū Hakusho (Poltergeist Report) is about a young boy named Yuusuke, who dies while rescuing a young child from being hit by a car. He is revived by Ko-Enma, the son of the Lord of the Spirit Realm, but he has been charged with a mission; seek out stolen Spirit World artifacts, and fight demons that cause havoc on the Human World. This series is about 100 episodes long.

Gatchaman has been released several times in the United States, most notibly as Battle of the Planets and G-Force. Both previous releases were heavily edited from the original Japanese release.
