Rave Master and Tokyo Mew Mew to be Released in March

Public Square Books (PSB), a New York company that publishes Spanish versions of graphic-novels and non-fiction for the USA will be launching its first manga releases this year.

Starting in March, PSB will release Spanish translations of Rave Master and Tokyo Mew Mew. The titles are licensed directly from Kodansha, and the company has a partnership with Norma Editorial of Spain. They will be using the translations used by Norma in the Spanish editions of the same manga.

Nine volumes of Rave Master will be released between March and August, with 1 volume per month continuing after that (ie: volume 10 in September). All seven volumes of Tokyo Mew Mew will be released between March and August. Tokyo Mew Mew a la Mode is expected to be released in late 2006 or early 2007.

They are also looking at other manga, but are not yet ready to make any further announcements.

The manga will be released unflipped, in 4.5" x 7" format (same size as in Japan), with dustcovers, for $10.95.

In addition to these mainstream manga, PSB also publishes "alternative" manga, Hell, Goodbye from Yoshihiro Tatsumi and a Spanish translation of "How to Draw Manga."

PSP publishes Spanish adaptations of numerous American comics, such as Hellboy and Sin City, as well as European comics like Blueberry, Rapaces and Blacksaad.

Their catalog and release schedule can be seen here.
