Toei to Establish In-House US Licensing Department

Animation World Network is reporting that Toei Animation, one of the oldest and most prolific of Japan's anime studios, has launched a division to license and merchandise Toei brands for the North American market. The division will be formally unveiled at next month's New York International Licensing Show with the Digimon brand. It is based out of the Los Angeles office of Toei Animation, Inc. (TAI). In April, Toei Animation announced the licensing of the television rights for the fifth Digimon series to Toon Disney.
