Imagi Hosts 2009 Astro Boy Film Director's Interview
posted on 2007-06-27 14:31 EDTIMAGI, the production company behind this year's TMNT movie and Highlander anime video, hosts an interview with Colin Brady, the former Pixar and Industrial Light & Magic animator who will direct IMAGI's 2009 Astro Boy computer-animated film adaptation. Brady acknowledges the "sophisticated and tragic themes" in Osamu Tezuka's original manga on the pioneering robot boy. He also discusses production challenges—including 3D-modeling Astro Boy's distinctive "hair," which often did not change shape even between different camera angles in the 2D manga and anime.
