Anime distributor acknowledges cutbacks on staff resulted in consolidation

Chris Johnston, a former editor of A.D. Vision's Newtype USA magazine, points out on the AnimeOnDVD forums that A.D. Vision is holding a consolidation auction of "oak, walnut & Ikea style office furniture, computers, servers, phones," and other surplus office supplies at its warehouse today. A slideshow of selected items has been posted as well. Chris Oarr, the sales account manager of A.D. Vision's ADV Films anime production division, has confirmed the auction is for surplus office material and has acknowledged that the company has cut back on staff.

Update: Johnston posted in the ANN forum to describe what happened at Newtype USA. Kevin Gifford, a former editor of the magazine PiQ which was positioned as a successor to Newtype USA, has posted a column about the end of PiQ. Thanks, rg4619.
