Oshii's Sky Crawlers Film Adds New Special Promo Video

The official Japanese website of The Sky Crawlers, the newest film from Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor, Avalon), is streaming a new 5-minute, 43-second special promotional video. The video describes the premise of the war story that takes place on an alternate world, and introduces a pilot named Yūichi Kannami (Letters from Iwo Jima, Honey and Clover's Ryo Kase) and a base commander named Suito Kusanagi (Babel, Genius Party's Oscar-nominated Rinko Kikuchi). The film will open in Japan on August 2, after an American premiere that took place this month at California's Skywalker Sound studio.
