Genius Party Beyond Film's New Trailer Streamed (Updated)

2nd anthology from Animatrix, Tekkonkinkreet's studio to open on October 11

The official Japanese website of Studio 4°C's Genius Party anthology films has posted a new one-minute trailer for the second film, Genius Party Beyond. (In the linked page, select the video image to the right.) The anthology includes "Gala" by Mahiro Maeda (Blue Submarine No. 6, The Animatrix's Second Renaissance), "Moondrive" by Kazuto Nakazawa (Kill Bill: Volume 1's anime sequence, Parasite Dolls), "Wanwa the Puppy" by Shinya Ohira (Yumemakura Baku Twilight Gekijou, Kill Bill: Volume 1 key animator), "Tojin Kit" by Tatsuyuki Tanaka (Digital Juice's Kin Jin Kitto), and "Dimension Bomb" by Koji Morimoto (Memories). The second film premiered in Washington D.C. in a showing attended by Maeda, Morimoto, and the first Genius Party film's Shinichiro Watanabe. Genius Party Beyond will open in Japan on October 11.

Pretty Cure Episodes 1-14 Streaming
Though slavishly formulaic and distinctly kid-oriented, this series about two starkly contrasting 8th graders who become a magical girl duo still looks good enough, and is distinguishable enough in its action components, to warrant at least a sampling by anime fans with diversified interests.

Fushigi Yûgi -VIZBIG Edition- GN 2
Watase's Fushigi Yûgi is without a doubt one of the titles to set the standard for what “manga” in the United States has come to be. For this reason alone, it is a must-read. But even if you couldn't care a whit about its historical significance, it's still a fun story that may be enjoyed purely on its own terms.
