Masami Kurumada Hints at New Ring ni Kakero Work

Saint Seiya creator posts lyrics for "Ring ni Kakero 1: Sekai Hen" boxing story

The manga creator Masami Kurumada (Saint Seiya, B'tX) revealed in his blog on February 25 that lyrics have been written for a new song for his Ring ni Kakero boxing story. In the photograph posted in Kurumada's blog, the lyrics sheet is titled "Ring ni Kakero 1: Sekai Hen (Ring ni Kakero 1: World Story Arc)." Ring ni Kakero 1 was the name of the 2004 anime adaptation of his first Ring ni Kakero manga, and its 2006 sequel was named Ring ni Kakero 1: Nichibei Kessen Hen (Ring ni Kakero 1: The Japan/U.S. Battle Story Arc) after one of the manga story arcs. There are "Sekai" story arcs later in the manga that have yet to be animated.

Kurumada is best known around the world for the Saint Seiya mythological manga and its various anime adaptations, but he also drew the B'tX futuristic adventure and the Fuma no Kojirou ninja story. Viz Media has been publishing Saint Seiya in North America, while Tokyopop published the 15th volume of B'tX last July. ADV Films and DiC Entertainment released the Saint Seiya anime in North America, and Illumintoons released the B'tX anime. Kurumada ended his Ring ni Kakero 2 manga sequel last year, even as work began on the upcoming Saint Seiya anime spinoff, Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas - Meiō Shinwa.
