News Sophia Keyboardist Miyako Diagnosed with Lymphoma
posted on 2010-03-23 03:00 EDT
The Japanese rock band Sophia announced on Sunday that the band's keyboardist Keiichi Miyako was diagnosed with lymphoma. Miyako will be taking a break from the band after its ongoing 15th anniversary tour to undergo treatment. Miyako started experiencing symptoms in February, and underwent surgery on February 17 to determine the cause.
Anime Expo announced in February that SOPHIA would appear at the July 1-4 event in Los Angeles. The band will still perform at Anime Expo on July 3, but without Miyako.
SOPHIA performed "Boku wa Koko ni Iru," the second ending theme song for the Kaleido Star television anime series. In addition to its previous songs, SOPHIA will perform songs from its 15th anniversary album, appropriately titled 15.

Dawn of the Arcana stumbled at bit in its second volume, but with this one we seem to be back on track.
As far as conclusions go, this arc has one of the strongest. While Eye Opening revealed some important information about the Sonozaki family in general and the twins in particular, Atonement makes us look at what information we already have in a different way.
While the story still has its logical flaws, it remains an engaging read that holds up well despite the passing of years and this volume continues to keep up both the promise and nostalgia of Takeuchi's masterwork.
Overall, neither Pokemon the Movie: Black or its White counterpart really stands out from the already packed herd. While not terrible, these are films that can be safely left alone unless you or your child have a compulsion to truly catch 'em all.
Princess Knight, despite its slow start, has a bit of everything that makes shoujo manga so much fun. While it very definitely bears the mark of the early 1960s in its heavy use of Christian iconography and gender stereotypes, Tezuka's pioneering shoujo work deserves the acclaim it has gotten.
