3-minute "Portent" to present "unseen new side" of Joey, Lina characters

The second Blu-ray Disc and DVD volumes for Stan Lee and Bones' Heroman television anime series will ship in Japan on September 22 with an exclusive original anime short called "Portent." The three-minute short is being specifically produced for Blu-ray and DVD, and it will present an "unseen new side" of the main characters Joey and Lina.

Volume 2 and later volumes will feature three television episodes each, rather than two episodes as the first volume will. Volume 3 will also include an animated music video of the ending theme song "Calling" and 24 pages of character and background designs.

Heroman's first Blu-Ray/DVD release in Japan is due August 18, with volumes 2 and 3 arriving on September 22 and October 20, respectively. The rest of the nine planned volumes will ship every month thereafter until April 2011.

The media-distribution website Crunchyroll is simulcasting the anime series one hour after it airs in Japan.
