New TV series set in Isshu to launch this fall after Diamond & Pearl

TV Tokyo has announced on Thursday that the title of the next Pocket Monsters (Pokémon) television anime series will be Pocket Monsters: Best Wishes! The new series will launch this fall after the end of the current series, Pokémon - Diamond and Pearl. The story is set in a land called Isshu where a new journey will unfold. More details will be provided during Diamond and Pearl and on the anime franchise's homepage.

The Nintendo game company had already revealed that it will ship a new series of Pokémon: Black and Pokémon: White games for the Nintendo DS consoles in Japan this fall.

The first Pokémon (Pocket Monsters) television anime series ran in Japan from 1997 to 2002, and it premiered in America in 1998. Cartoon Network's Boomerang spinoff television channel for "cartoon classics" began airing the first Pokémon series this past April. The Pokemon Advance (Pocket Monsters: Advanced Generation) television sequel ran in Japan from 2002 to 2006, and it premiered in America in 2003. Pokémon - Diamond and Pearl premiered in America in 2007.
