The Japanese publisher Kodansha will bundle an anime DVD with Hiroki Yagami's G-Best -G-taste Best Selection compilation manga volume on November 22. The 64-page volume will collect selected stories from original full-color erotic manga series, which ran in Young Magazine Uppers. However, the bundled DVD will contain about 25 minutes of all-new animation produced by the anime studio AIC PLUS+. The anime will feature five of the popular characters from the manga. Katsuhiko Nishijima (Agent Aika, Graduation) is directing.

Yagami is also starting a sequel manga series called G-Taste Act 2 in the October issue of Monthly Young Magazine on September 8. SoftCel Pictures released the earlier 1999 G-Taste video anime series as its first license after splitting off from ADV Films.

A 69-second censored trailer is streaming on the YouTube website.

Besides G-Taste, Yagami created the Dear Boys basketball manga. Bandai Entertainment released the Dear Boys television anime series adaptation under the name Hoop Days.
