News NTV to Make Madhouse Anime Studio Its Subsidiary

The Japanese broadcasting company NTV announced on Tuesday that it will make the anime studio Mad House its subsidiary. NTV will become Mad House's primary stockholder at about 85%, via a third-party allocation of shares for about 1 billion yen (about US$12 million) on February 18.
Mad House's numerous anime works include Metropolis, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Millennium Actress, Summer Wars, Ninja Scroll, Card Captor Sakura, Monster, Hajime no Ippo, Iron Man, and Wolverine. Mad House is currently 60.91% owned by Index and 10.40% owned by NTV. NTV aims to have an operating profit of 300 million yen (US$3.6 million) in three years.
