Anime by Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei creator Kumeta & director Shinbo to start May 25

The official website for the anime adaptation of the Katteni Kaizō comedy manga has begun streaming the project's opening animation footage. In the story by Kôji Kumeta (Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei), Kaizō Katsu is a former student of the "Genius Cram School" ("Tensai Juku") but his childhood friend Umi Natori accidentally turned him into an idiot (and possibly insane) by injuring his head. Kaizō's crazy ideas caused an explosion that forced the Genius Cram School to shut down. Even years later when Kaizō is in high school, his former classmates have come looking for payback.

The first of three anime volumes by director Akiyuki Shinbo (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei) will ship on May 25.
