Suspect Arrested for Uploading Nadja via Share Program

Police in the southwestern Japanese prefecture of Kōchi arrested Shinji Betsuyaku, a 27-year-old company worker from Kōnan City, on suspicion of using the Share file-sharing software to upload television anime online without the copyright holders' permission on Friday. According to the police report, the suspect uploaded the first two episodes of the anime Ashita no Nadja around 10:30 a.m. on Friday. The police also stated that the suspect said, "Using file-sharing software was second nature to me."

According to the police, the suspect was distributing about 6,500 other files of anime and still images via share.
