One Piece 63 Is 2011's 3rd 3-Million-Copy Seller

posted on by Egan Loo
7th One Piece manga volume to sell 3 million+ on Oricon's charts since 2008

As of October 30, the 63rd and latest volume of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece pirate manga has sold 3.013 million copies — thus becoming the third One Piece volume in a row to sell over three million copies since debuting this year. This volume inched over the milestone by selling 14,000 more copies this past week.

One Piece volume 60 was the first book of any series to sell over 3 million copies since Oricon began posting its sales ranking charts in April of 2008. It debuted last November, but it took four months to reach that milestore. Since then, volume 59 (3.151 million as of May), volume 58 (3.053 as of August), volume 57 (3.017 million as of October), and volumes 61 to 63 have also surpassed the three-million mark.

With the release of volume 64 this Friday, this year's new One Piece manga volumes alone are poised to sell over 10 million copies.
