This year's eighth issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine is announcing on Thursday that the television anime adaptation of Yasuhisa Hara's historical manga Kingdom will premiere in June. New episodes will air every Monday on NHK's BS Premium channel in Japan at 7:00 p.m.

Weekly Young Jump announced in November that Jun Kamiya (D.I.C.E., Blue Seed, Third: The Girl with the Blue Eye) will direct while Naruhisa Arakawa (Blue Seed, Steel Angel Kurumi, Elemental Gelade) will be in charge of series scripts. The Kingdom manga has been running in Weekly Young Jump since 2006, and the 25th volume will ship in Japan on February 17.
