Tale of twins transported to Arabian world of One Thousand and One Nights

The July issue of Monthly Asuka magazine announced on Thursday that D.N.Angel manga creator Yukiru Sugisaki will launch the 1001 (pronounced Knights) series in the next issue on June 23. The Arabian Nights-inspired tale centers around two twins, Naito and Yuta, who travel to Dubai in search of their missing father. They encounter a peddler and before they know it, they awaken in the world of One Thousand and One Nights.

Asuka also serialized D.N.Angel, which Tokyopop published in North America. Xebec studio adapted D.N.Angel into a television anime series in 2003, and A.D. Vision and Discotek Media released the anime for North America. Sugisaki's Lagoon Engine manga was also published by Asuka magazine and Tokyopop, and its spinoff, Lagoon Engine Einsatz, ran in A.D. Vision's Newtype USA magazine.
