Arcana Famiglia Gets Unaired Anime Episode, New Game

posted on by Egan Loo
Extra episode included on March 2013 Blu-ray/DVD for Sunday's event

A new unaired anime episode and a new game were announced for the La storia della Arcana Famiglia franchise at Sunday's "Anime La storia della Arcana Famiglia's 1st Event 'La prima festa.'" The unaired extra episode is titled "Capriccio – stile Arcana Famiglia" and it will be on the Arcana Famiglia Special Disc "La prima festa" along with a summary video of Sunday's event. The Blu-ray Disc/DVD release will arrive on March 27, 2013.

The limited first edition of the disc will also have a new character song for Jolly, and the Animate chain of character goods stores will add a bonus special DJ CD and an exclusive sleeve illustrated by original game's character designer Yomi Sarachi.

The event offered no more details about the new game's release and contents other than its title: Arcana Famiglia 2.

The franchise originated in HuneX (VitaminX Addiction) and Comfort Soft's adventure game for female players. The game has sold over 50,000 copies and is spawning a November 22 spinoff called Festa Regalo. (Sunday's event revealed the spinoff's opening theme song that the characters Mondo and Sumire, as voiced by Fumihiko Tachiki and Kikuko Inoue, are singing.)

The story follows Arcana Famiglia, a self-appointed organization with mysterious powers that has protected a small Mediterranean island from pirates, foreign countries, and other threats. The only daughter of the family's "Papa," Felicitá, will be married to the next head of the family in two months — and the successor will be decided in a competition that Felicitá herself will take part in.

Crunchyroll has been streaming the anime as it airs in Japan. Sentai announced at Anime Expo that it licensed the anime for North America.
