Mamoru Oshii Leaves Japan February-April to Shoot New Work

posted on by Sarah Nelkin

The official website for Howling in the Night, the annual event devoted to the works of director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, The Sky Crawlers), announced on Thursday that the date of his Howling in the Night 2013 event will be different, since he will be out of Japan from February to April to film his new work in Canada.

The event's scheduled guests will be announced at the event itself on January 17 at the Academy Hills 49 in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo at 5:00 p.m. Pre-ordered tickets cost 4,000 yen (about US$47), while tickets on the day of the event will cost 4,500 yen (US$53)— though it is noted that they might not be selling them at all at the door due to space limitations. The general-admission seats are not preassigned.

Oshii's live-action film The Last Druid: Garm Wars is scheduled to be released in the early summer of 2014.
