'Straight Title Robot Anime's' 1st Ad Streamed

Hatsune Miku's KEI designs story of robots waging war long after humans' extinction

The first commercial for the Straight Title Robot Anime (Chokkyū Hyōdai Robot Anime) television series began streaming on niconico on Tuesday. The series is produced with MikuMikuDance (MMD), Yū Higuchi's program that enables users to create dancing videos of Crypton Future Media's Vocaloid virtual idol character Hatsune Miku, as well as other characters.

The story of the anime is set in the year Mobile Century 8013. It has been over seven millennia since humanity was wiped out on Earth, but the surviving military robots continue to wage war with no end in sight. The war has embroiled the Rebellion Federation that controls Europe and the Principality of Shin centered in Asia. Three young robots stand up to put an end to this futile war.

Kōtarō Ishidate (gdgd Fairies) is directing and overseeing the series scripts, while cort is the animation director. Kei, the illustrator best known for designing Hatsune Miku, is designing the characters. Tōru Nakano is producing the sound.

The anime will premiere on February 5 from 25:30 to 25:45 (effectively February 6 from 1:30 to 1:45 a.m.) and will run for one cours (one quarter of a year). It will also stream on the Niconico service after broadcast.
