Seven Seas Licenses 2 More Alice Manga (Updated)

Company to re-release Jung-Man Cho's Witch Hunter manhwa under Witch Buster name

North American publisher Seven Seas Entertainment confirmed with ANN that it will release two more manga adaptations of QuinRose's Alice fantasy romance adventure game franchise: Alice in the Country of Hearts: The Mad Hatter's Late Night Tea Party (Heart no Kuni no Alice: Bōshiya to Shinya no Ochakai, pictured at right) and Alice Love Fables: Toy Box (Renai Otogibanashi: Toy Box, pictured far right).

Alice in the Country of Hearts: The Mad Hatter's Late Night Tea Party is a two-volume manga by Riko Sakura. The first volume will ship in November for US$13.99. Ichijinsha published the two volumes in Japan in 2010 and 2011. The manga series tells a love story between Alice and Blood.

Mamenosuke Fujimaru's (Alice in the Country of Clover, Alice in the Country of Joker) Alice Love Fables: Toy Box is a single-volume manga of short fantasy love stories that feature various characters from Alice in the Country of Hearts, Alice in the Country of Clover, Arabians Lost, and Crimson Empire. Ichijinsha originally published the volume in 2009. Alice Love Fables: Toy Box will ship in North America in December for US$13.99.

Seven Seas also confirmed with ANN that it is re-releasing Jung-Man Cho's Witch Hunter manhwa under the name Witch Buster. Seven Seas explained that after it began publication of Witch Hunter, the company learned that another comic has trademark rights for that name in the United States, and so the company had to delay the series until the matter was resolved. The change in title will only reflect the title and logo, and the characters in the series itself will still use the terms "witch hunter" and "wh." The company will re-release the series in omnibus editions with the first two omnibus volumes shipping in July, the third omnibus volume shipping in October, and the fourth omnibus volume scheduled to ship in November.

Tokyopop published the first Alice in the Country of Hearts manga adaptation in North America, and Yen Press has since picked up the license. Yen Press is also releasing the Alice in the Country of Hearts: My Fanatic Rabbit series.

Seven Seas Entertainment added Alice in the Country of Joker and Crimson Empire: Circumstances to Serve a Noble last June. The company is also releasing the Alice in the Country of Clover: Bloody Twins, Alice in the Country of Clover: Cheshire Cat Waltz, and Alice in the Country of Clover: Ace of Hearts series, as well as the Alice in the Country of Hearts: The Clockmaker's Story manga.

Update: Seven Seas publishes the Alice in the Country of Clover: Ace of Hearts and Alice in the Country of Hearts: The Clockmaker's Story manga in North America, not Yen Press.
