Yukai Asada draws new manga based on Tohru Fujisawa's supernatural police story

The July issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Hero's magazine announced last Saturday that Tohru Fujisawa and Yukai Asada are collaborating to launch a new Tokko manga in the next issue on July 1. Fujisawa, the creator of the original supernatural police manga Tokko, is outlining the story while Asada is drawing the actual art in the new bimonthly series.

The original three-volume 2004 Tokko manga focused on a man who joins the Special Mobile Investigation Force to avenge his parents' violent deaths — deaths that may be part of a larger murder spree by inhuman creatures. Director Masashi Abe and the AIC studio animated Tokko into a 13-episode television series in 2006. A year later, Manga Entertainment released the anime version in North America, and America's Sci Fi Channel then aired the entire series. Tokyopop published the original manga in 2008 and 2009.
