The flash anime studio DLE Inc., along with Yomiuri TV, istyle, and Kayac are collaborating to produce the Nyuru Nyuru!! Kakusen-kun television anime series that will premiere on Yomiuri TV on July 8. The anime revolves around little creatures called "Kakusen" who live in the skin pores of humans. The cast and characters are as follows:
Nyuruo (played by child actor Yūto Itō): a newborn Kakusen who was born in the nose. Nyuruo is ignorant of the world around him, but he is honest. His hobby is stamp rallies and his dream is to become a government worker.
Kakusenpai (played by Jin Katagiri): A Kakusen who is extremely self-confident and carefree, but is also foolish and he cannot hear human speech. He was born in the armpit, his hobby is darts, and his dream is to be a pro surfer.
Kakusensei (played by Jun Fukuyama): A Kakusen who is very logical. He was born in the left cheek. His hobby is reading the science magazine "Newton" and his dream is to discover the origins of the universe.
Nyuna (played by Haruka Tomatsu): A beautiful and tidy Kakusen. Her hobby is yoga and her dream is to become a make-up artist.
DLE is currently streaming an announcement video for the series.
The anime will also air on Tokyo MX and BS12TwellV. Kayac is releasing a smart phone game adaptation, and the @cosme website will also feature a collaboration with the anime.
Wolf Children is honest about the gross reality of raising kids (and pets) while still leaving room for fantasy, which is really the only way a movie about single motherhood can work for a general family audience, as Wolf Children largely does.
Rarely before has an anime series so keenly and uncomfortably struck home about the humorous travails of a social misfit. Its triumph is in creating an anti-moe protagonist who paradoxically winds up being intensely moe, too.
