Voice actress Rie Tanaka (Hyperdimension Neptunia, Persona 3) announced on her official Twitter feed on Tuesday that she would take a break from Twitter. She wrote:
To all of my fans who have been cheering me on, and to all of my fellow actors and staff, I am very sorry for causing so much worry. Thank you so, so much for visiting me and sending me so many messages. My wound is healing little by little, so please don't worry.
And now, I have a very important announcement. Rie Tanaka's Twitter will be taking a break as of today... It makes me feel very lonely that I will lose my connection with my fans who cheer me on... Thank you for everything up until now. I am full of feelings of gratitude that words can't say.
Also, I give thanks from my heart to my fellow actors and staff who also spoke to me through Twitter. Thank you so much for everything up until now.
Thank you so, so much. I will be doing my best so that we can meet again somewhere.
Tanaka (voice of Neptune/Purple Heart) attended the "TV Anime Hyperdimension Neptunia's Earliest! Advance Screening Event" for the Chō Jigen Game Neptune The Animation (Hyperdimension Neptunia the Animation) anime at the Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro theater on Saturday alongside Asami Imai (Noire/Black Heart), and Rina Satou (Vert/Green Heart). At approximately 1:40 PM, a man allegedly appeared carrying a knife at the event. Tanaka's agency reported on her official blog that she was injured with a bruised knee as she lost her footing on some steps in an attempt to flee the incident.
The suspect was allegedly carrying a knife with a blade 10 to 20 centimeters (about 4 to 8 inches) long in the theater at around 2:00 p.m. Under the current Japanese law that was revised in 2009, it is illegal to carry daggers or double-edged knives with blades 5.5 centimeters (2.2 inches) or longer.
