Nisekoi, Ore Monogatari!! Get Crossover Shōnen/Shōjo Manga

2-chapter special to include "girls side," "boys side"

The shōnen manga series Nisekoi from creator Naoshi Komi and the shōjo manga series Ore Monogatari!! from writer Kazune Kawahara (High School Debut) and artist Aruko are getting a two-chapter crossover special. The "boys' side" chapter will appear in this year's 40th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on September 2, and the "girls' side" chapter will appear in the October issue of Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine on September 13.

Ore Monogatari!! is a romantic comedy that revolves around the love triangle between the unattractive Takeo Gouda, his cool and attractive childhood friend Sunagawa, and the pure Yamato, whose specialty is making candy. The original 100-page story was published in an issue of Bessatsu Margaret Sister in October 2011, but the manga then returned in Bessatsu Margaret as a serialized work. The series won Best Shojo Manga at the 37th Kodansha Manga Awards in May.

Nisekoi is a romantic comedy that follows the story of high-schooler and yakuza family member Raku Ichijo, who is forced into a fake relationship with Chitoge Kirisaki, the daughter of a rival gang's boss. While acting out their romance, Raku realizes that Chitoge has mysterious key from her past, which she can't remember, and he has a pendant that can only be unlocked by his childhood sweetheart. To complicate matters, two more girls with keys also appear.

Komi, the creator of the Double Arts manga, first made Nisekoi as a one-shot manga in Shueisha's seasonal Jump NEXT! magazine in 2011. Komi then launched the manga as a regular series in the main Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in November 2011. Viz Media's English version of Shonen Jump then began serializing the manga last year, and will ship first volume in January. An upcoming anime adaptation will air on television.
