Announced before Kyoto Animation's Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai! film on Saturday

The official website for Kyoto Animation's Tamako Market television anime updated on Saturday to confirm that a new project is in production. The announcement was first made before screenings of another Kyoto Animation title, the Takanashi Rikka • Kai ~Gekijō-ban Chūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai!~ film, earlier in the day.

The original anime followed Tamako Kitashirakawa, a high school freshman and the mochi-loving daughter of a mochi (rice cake) shopkeeper in a shopping district. The 12-episode television series premiered in Japan in January. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for North America and The Anime Network streamed the series as it aired.
