Kyoto Animation's K-ON Team Airs Tamako Market Anime's 2nd Ad

posted on by Egan Loo
Yūki Kaneko, Juri Nagatsuma join cast as Tamako's classmates/baton club members

Kyoto Animation aired and streamed the second television commercial for Tamako Market, the upcoming television anime from the main staff of K-ON!, on Thursday. The tagline for the anime's new ad and the updated website reads, "Rice cake (mochi), ready to eat."

The ad and site reveal the latest piece of key visual art and more of the cast:

Yūki Kaneko as Midori Tokiwa, Tamako's classmate, childhood friend, and baton club member. Her grandparents work at a candy shop in the Usagiyama Shopping District.

Juri Nagatsuma as Kanna Makino, Tamako's classmate and fellow baton club member. She is the daughter of a carpenter who is kept very busy in the shopping district.

Pony Canyon already revealed that Aya Suzaki (Bakuman., Manyū Hiken-chō, To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness) will play the title heroine Tamako Kitashirakawa, a high-school freshman who is cheerful, spirited, and kind to others. She is the mochi-loving daughter of a mochi shopkeeper in the shopping district and a baton club member.

Naoko Yamada (K-ON!) is directing, and Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!, Bakuman.) is in charge of the series scripts. Another K-ON! veteran, Yukiko Horiguchi (Lucky Star), is designing the characters.

The anime will premiere on January 9 on the Tokyo MX TV station. It will also run on the Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, BS11 Digital, and BS Animax channels.
