Long TGS trailer, Final Fantasy XIV collaboration Miqo'te costume video also posted

Sony's US PlayStation Blog began streaming the opening cutscene for Square Enix's Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII role-playing game on Tuesday.

Additionally, Square Enix posted the long version of the game's Tokyo Game Show trailer in Japanese on Tuesday.

Square Enix and Square Enix UK also posted two videos on Tuesday for new costumes for Lightning. The first is for a collaboration between the game and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn featuring Lightning in a Miqo'te costume and holding shields with motifs of the game's three city-states: Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, and Ul'dah. The second video is for an Aerith Gainsborough costume and guard rod weapon from Final Fantasy VII for Lightning. In Japan, those who purchase the January 2014 issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine on November 21, the same day the game ships in Japan, will get a code for the Aerith costume. The costume also features Aerith's signature basket of flowers as Lightning's shield.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will ship in Japan on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 21. The game will arrive in the United States on February 11, 2014, and then in Europe on February 14, 2014. Players who pre-order the game in North America and Europe will be able to unlock Cloud's uniform, bangle, and buster sword as equipment for Lightning. Lightning is also getting a Yuna costume from Final Fantasy X and various samurai costumes.

The game will represent the final chapter in Lightning's story, and centers around a 13-day countdown until the end of the world, and players must save humanity within 13 days and 13 nights.
